Dartmouth

Downtown
Dartmouth, the "city of lakes", is in the midst of a dramatic
revitalization process currently, wiht a number of businesses enterin
the commercial core, new condo and housing projects underway, and a younger
generation starting to realize all that the area has to offer. However,
the old world charm of the HRM still remains, with beautiul century old
homes and mature trees abundant, particularly in amost the "Flower
Streets" located just across the MacDonald Bridge from Halifax.
Another thing that Downtown Dartmouth definitely has to offer is value
- with hosing prices amongst the most affordable in the region, and yet
still located just seconds rm the bridges to Halifax, and a 12 minute
ferry ride from Halifax Downtown core.
Dartmouth's North End remains one of the most affordable locations in
all of HRM, with a number o semi's, duplexes and multifamily type home
available, mixed with a number of rental areas.
Stretching out to the Burnside Industrial Part, you find a much greater
commercial influence, however, the Dartmouth waterront has begun to stretch
this far, with a recent development on Windmill Road entitled "Sheppards
Island Condominims". One of the most ambitious projects in the entire
region in recent years, it is certain to bring more of a community feel
to the area.
Some of the amenities that Downtown Dartmouth proudly offers are some
wonderful restaurants, a vibrant business core, the Dartmouth Sportsplex,
featuring a fabulous swimming pool, two rinks, a spa and workout facility,
a number of beautiful parks, and Lake Banook, one of the premier paddling
venues in all of Canada, host to numberous championship regattas annually.
