Buyer's Info Step 4 - Discuss your Needs with a REALTOR® Your REALTOR® is there to help, but to do so, I need to know some basic information about your situation (ie. What you are looking for, what is important to you in a home, your timeline for shopping, how much you are approved for etc). I set up a consultation session with you so that I can get to know exactly what it is you are looking for, and to help introduce my services to you. Once I am more familiar with your needs, I will suggest some homes that I feel would suit your needs, based on my experience. Additionally, I will set you up on our special Home Finding program that will keep you informed about homes that get listed - even before they hit the public website! Remember, that in almost every case, it costs you absolutely nothing to work with a Realtor as a buyer - my services are paid by the seller through their commission. Some buyers like to leave their name with 4 or 5 agents in hopes of getting more time spent on their search. However, because they are not committed to one Real Estate professional, no professional will commit to them, and they usually receive sub-par service from the people they have been speaking with. It makes much more sense to find the agent you are comfortable with, and to use them as your buying resource throughout the entire transaction. Another thing that most first time buyers don't realize is that Real Estate Agents can help you purchase any home in the area - not simply the ones that are listed with their own company. Take advantage of their knowledge and expertise in evaluating the homes you are looking at.
